Tanka – Form Challenge

I’ve never written a Tanka before, but it similar to a Haiku – instead of 5-7-5, or 3-5-3, the structure is 5-7-5-7-7.

I think I suck at it. But here are my attempts anyway. ^_^

###

Mourning dove, sitting
sweetly in the pepper tree.
Snuggling now with your
lovey-dove. Preening feathers;
entwining your neck with his.

###

Getting in the car
The wind steals a hank of hair
When I close the door
I’m pinioned to the window
Ow! Laughing, I release it.
