New Beginnings

Today’s prompt was brought to you by Khara House and her “Our Lost Jungle” blog.

This may be the beginning of a whole month of creativity for me – I did need a good project to start the summer. ^_^

we all had to start somewhere

Sprouting acorn of Quercus robur. Wikipedia/public domain

a baby’s first step
a robin’s first flight
a writer’s first word
a warrior’s first fight

a kitten’s first purr
a flower unfurling
new love beginning
hands twined and curling

an acorn sprouting
a tiger’s first roar
such small beginnings
can lead to much more

  1. This poem moved me in a way that really surprised me–I very literally teared up once I hit the line “a warrior’s first fight.” You’ve really hit on the importance of those defining moments in life, those “beginnings” and origin points that help to make us who we are. Thank you for sharing this!
