Khara House “Our Lost Jungle” Prompt day 10:
Long winter days with no color in sight
but white and black and
shades of gray.
Don’t our eyes long for the
restfulness of green?
First pale sprouts on a tree,
baby leaves, tinting the forest
with a haze of delicate
Pale blue desert skies
above stone and hill and cave,
the occasional dusty cactus
breaks the skyline.
The sight of a verdant oasis
soothes the heart.
Autumn harvest, lush and golden,
surrounded by trees painted in red and orange.
The evergreens a lavish backdrop
that is the perfect setting
for appreciating Fall.
The color of life in so many ways.
Green feeds our eyes and souls,
something one might not realize
until one is without it.
