30×30 day 26 – Sweet. And no, Virginia, sonnets do not have to rhyme. ^_^
Sweet is the word to describe that feeling
on a tongue touched to something sugary.
It’s also the word for something precious,
like your chubby baby girl or boy. Or
like the roly-poly antics of a
puppy, the purring content of a cat.
Sweet is the word to describe other things,
the selfless act, one child to another;
random kindness from a total stranger.
But sweet is a way to say that aching
tug when something calls to our souls or pulls
tears from somewhere we don’t normally feel.
Unbearable sweetness is what we feel
when we first begin to fall into love.
