Things are not as they appear

At Work

Brow furrowed, glasses on.
Fingers fly across the keyboard.
A co-worker passes,
pauses to speak,
but moves on,
so as not to interrupt
important tasks.

Hammering the words into
a pleasing shape.
Delete,
retype,
correct,
sweat,
rinse,
repeat.

Unsatisfied, eyes narrow.
Something is not right, but what?

Aha, Eureka moment!
Another verse:
now it’s done!

Cut and paste and
sign and submit.
And start again tomorrow.
