At the same time every night,
the bedtime ritual begins.
Turn off the tv, dim the light,
the first one done with bath wins.
Brush teeth, Pjs, then tucked in bed
and it’s finally story time.
The kids lay still, pull up the spread,
for stories most sublime.
All the classic children’s tales,
adventures and fantasies all.
Stories of jungles or billowing sails.
Hogwarts, horses, or baseball.
Every night’s schedule always includes
at least a half hour of reading.
No matter what let nothing intrude.
Good parents, this is succeeding.
