Day 7 of the Poem-a-Day challenge. Sometimes the poems just flow, and today is one of those days. The prompt was to write about discovery. The most interesting discoveries, in my mind at least, are made learning about other people.

This is just basic prose. And no, it does not have to rhyme.

His face resembled
his tightly clenched fist
gripping something steadfastly.
It is a rose, petals compressed,
thorns piercing unheeding flesh.
It is an arduous act, unfolding those
unwilling fingers to
reveal the secrets within.
