Occupation

Occupation, as in, writing a poem about a person’s occupation, and make that the title.  I almost went the Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy route, but thought I should have a bit more fun than that.

Today’s poem is a silly poem, but I love it nonetheless. 😀

Tyromancy - Grandeloquent word of the day

Tyromancer

(tyromancy: divination by studying the coagulation of cheese)

“Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese.”
G.K. Chesterton

What do you see in all of your cheese?
Do you look at the holes? Do they hold the keys?
I’m curious , my friend, so please tell me, please,
what do you see in all of your cheese?

Do you make it yourself, your cheesy delights?
Does it help when you make it by days or by nights?
Do ingredients matter when seeing your sights?
Do you make it yourself, your cheesy delights?

And what about flavor, does that mean a thing?
Is it tasty and creamy? Does it have a nice zing?
And what does it mean when it twirls on a string?
What about twirling? Does that mean a thing?

What do you see, now, oh, Tyromanctic seer?
Is it going to be frightening or something more drear?
Will I live out the week? Please lend me your ear,
what do you see, now, sweet, Tyromantic seer?

It all seems so random, but you get your results,
so how can I judge you or hurl you insults?
I just hope you know that we’re all still adults,
though it all seems so random, you do get results.
